Shinabery's Community Pharmacy is one of the few pharmacies in the entire region that is accredited by the Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board (PCAB). Actually, less than 1% of the compounding pharmacies in the United States have PCAB accreditation. What this means is that Shinabery's has passed an extensive onsite inspection and during that investigation had met or exceeded their rigorous national standards, uses only the highest-quality chemicals and state-of-the-art equipment, maintains an ongoing quality improvement system and employs a highly-qualified staff.
Shinabery's Community Pharmacy prepares all our sterile custom-made prescription medicines in an ISO Class 5 Cleanroom, as required by USP 797. All ingredient weighing and manipulation occurs in a separate ISO class 5 Area which is kept apart from the sterile manipulation area by using a barrier and positive pressure. To prepare our sterile products, Shinabery's uses a variety of highly specialized, state of the art equipment, such as a microprocessor controlled convection oven, laboratory grade dishwasher with USP quality water supply, computerized autoclave and electronic pH meters.
All sterile compounding at Shinabery's Community Pharmacy is performed by one of our highly skilled pharmacists who ensure that every aspect of sterile compounding is followed according to all aseptic protocols. Prior to being dispensed to the patient, sterility testing is done on all of our sterile compounds, designated as high risk compounded by the United States Pharmacopoeia. All this testing is documented by the pharmacy and maintained on file. This is to give the patient and their healthcare team confidence in the quality of all our sterile preparations.
